AfroVibes International Artist Feature: Gracy Darlin


AfroVibes International continues to spotlight emerging and international talent shaping the global sound of Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Amapiano, and Dancehall. For this edition, we're highlighting Gracy Darlin, an artist bringing their unique voice and energy to the AfroVibes stage.


  1. Who are you and where are you from? What should the AfroVibes International audience know about your background and music journey?

    My name is Gracy Darlin, born and raised in South London. I’m a UK rap artist, but I am also versatile and do sing and create music in many genres. 


  2. What inspired you to start making music, and how long have you been creating?

    I have always been musical from a child. It has always been a talent and passion, a skill. Music is just a part of who I am and something that I always wanted to do throughout my life.


  3. How would you describe your sound or musical style, and what influences helped shape it?

    I would say my style is very unique as a female artist. It’s just something that’s in you words can’t really explain. I enjoy many artists and their songs but I feel my style is my own. The musicians that I do enjoy they more inspire me to be successful.


  4. AfroVibes International celebrates Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Amapiano, and Dancehall. How do your music and influences connect with global or diaspora sounds?

    My sound is more connected with hip-hop which is a global genre and relates to a lot of people and many people do enjoy hip-hop due to its authenticity. 


  5. What is your creative process when writing or recording a new song?

    I write music based on Life experiences and lyrics and sounds come to me naturally. When recording everything flows naturally because it’s real.  


  6. What message or feeling do you hope listeners take away from your music?

    I hope to inspire many people to be great, to be confident, to be who you are! Living your truth. No matter what adversities you may face you will overcome.


  7. What has been one of the most important moments in your music career so far?

    One of my biggest moments was taking myself international and receiving so much love. 


  8. What advice would you give to upcoming artists trying to build their careers today?

    Just be you, be confident,  be bold.  Negative things really do not matter, keep going.
